Our Mission Statement:
“Amitayus Home Hospice Service (AHHS) offers practical care and support for those who are palliative and in need of end of life care at home.
To support this work we also provide quality education and training to our volunteer carers and community on end of life matters.”

The Amitayus Home Hospice Service, located in rural northern NSW, was established in 1994 to provide support and care for local people with a life threatening illness, who wish to be cared for at home. We are a community based, “Not for Profit”, Non-Government Organisation, registered with NSW Department of Fair Trading as an incorporated association.

Caring for a loved one with a debilitating illness at home can place an enormous demand on family and friends, both emotionally and physically. We provide a range of support services, through our trained volunteer carers, to make remaining at home a viable alternative. In extreme cases, we can provide 24 hour  care.

Our services are provided free of charge. We provide an intensive 8 week training course for our volunteer carers. We provide community education through Community College courses. We have no paid positions in our organization, all persons work in a voluntary capacity.

We are completely reliant upon our own fundraising activities by way of special events, market stalls and local business donations. Any donation we receive and money we raise goes towards  phone, petrol, books, insurance, trainings, basic equipment and general running costs.
