Last Aid – care for the dying at home
The next training will be held on 8 – 10 May 2026 at Byron Community College Mullumbimby. The cost for this training is $350.
This weekend course offers a highly practical, experiential and contemplative program for participants to explore the field of death and dying, with a focus on how to support someone in their choice to die at home.
Topics covered will include: the journey from this decision through to the practical requirements, duty of care, grief & loss, spiritual care and after-death care of the dying person. It will provide opportunities to reflect, share with others, and develop skills in order to provide practical, physical and emotional support for someone moving towards death.
An aspiration of the program is also to normalise death and dying and cultivate, both personally and in the community, understanding of how to engage with death and dying in a more open, supportive and compassionate way. This course is open to anyone in the community, as a stand alone community education course.
Our classes are limited to 16 participants – you can register here when term bookings become available.
